Description

Bodegas Roda was founded in 1987 and is considered “the most modern of the traditionalists and the most traditional of the modernists.” Roda works with a total of 120 hectares - 70 owned by Roda and 50 by contracted growers - all bush vines; no irrigation; minimum intervention (no chemically synthesized products and use of cover crops). Their uncompromising commitment to quality is evident in the extensive research and development department and the state of the art gravity flow winery which includes the seventeen Seguin Moreau foudre for fermentation, radiant heat malolactic room and extensive aging cellar.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Intense, cherry red background and cherry red trim

NOSE:
Very good intensity, with perfectly integrated wood. The ripe red fruit in the cherry range stands out on the whole. There is a roundness in the maturation of the Mediterranean profile seen from La Rioja. Behind the red fruit is a set of sweet spices reminiscent of fine cinnamon and cloves. Fruits and spices create a perfect harmony and in the background there are nuances that complement the whole.

TASTE:
It is bulky and full. The tannins are very thin and alive. The fruits that appeared on the nose look perfectly in the mouth, with the cherry at its point of season as the protagonist. Leave a long feeling of freshness with the memory of cherry and spices in the background.

Food Pairing

Serve at room temperature with venison medallions and puréed winter root vegetables.
