Viñas del Vero - Somontano Tinto | Spanish Red Wine

Viñas del Vero Merlot Collection 2020 reflects the peculiar terroir of Somontano and the exceptional adaptation to it of one of the most appreciated Bordeaux grapes. A pioneer in successfully bringing and cultivating foreign varieties, such as the Merlot that stars this red, Viñas del Vero is one of the leading wineries in the Huesca DO.

The origin of this magnificent monovarietal is the Pago El Ariño, a vineyard planted, between 1988 and 1989, on sandy-loam soils, at an altitude of 500 meters and northeast-southeast orientation. This spectacular provenance, together with impeccable production, which included, after devatting and pressing, two months of resting for the wine, before it was aged in French oak barrels for another 10 months, gave the final result a frank red, structured and pleasant, with an intense aroma and powerful flavor.
