The Laphroaig 1991 23-Year-Old is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky from the renowned Islay distillery, Laphroaig. Distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2014, this limited release comprises 5,000 bottles, each presented at a cask strength of 52.6% ABV. The maturation process involved a combination of first-fill sherry casks and refill hogsheads, imparting a harmonious blend of Laphroaig's signature medicinal peat smoke with added layers of sweetness and spice.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
A complex and spicy aroma with perfumed notes, complemented by hints of fresh lemon zest, damp sand, seaweed, and subtle undertones of tar and leather.

TASTE:
Silky smooth with flavors of sweet vanilla custard, ashy peat, toffee, dried fruits, and a touch of dried red chili, leading to a warm and balanced mouthfeel.

FINISH:
Medium length with lingering spicy chili flakes, ashy peat, floral vanilla sweetness, and a dry, woody astringency.
