Description

Planted 1960, Jérôme thinks in pinot Magnien. The grapes hold on well after reaching ripeness. More purple than black, with some smoky liquorice aromatics. This certainly shows the savoury side of Fixin. The fruit, starting at the front of the palate and swelling through to the back, is sublime, deep in volume, enormously attractive in style, with some rich strawberry notes, and completes a very long unctuous finish, with no tannins in sight and just the right acidity.
