The GlenDronach 33 Year Old is an ultra-rare and luxuriously aged Highland single malt, matured for over three decades in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. As one of the oldest official bottlings from GlenDronach, this whisky showcases the pinnacle of the distillery’s rich, sherried style, offering exceptional depth, complexity, and elegance. Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill filtered, and naturally colored, this 33-year-old masterpiece is a prized collector’s edition that represents the very best of traditional Scotch whisky craftsmanship.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Deep and enchanting aromas of antique oak, aged leather, and tobacco leaf, followed by waves of dark cherries, dried figs, and mulled wine spices. Hints of dark chocolate, espresso, and polished mahogany linger, adding a sense of old-world luxury.
TASTE:
Rich, full-bodied, and incredibly smooth. Layers of dried fruits (dates, sultanas, and prunes) meet indulgent notes of dark toffee, treacle, and caramelized nuts. The influence of extended sherry cask aging brings out elegant hints of spiced orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted coffee beans. The oak is beautifully integrated, offering a subtle balance of tannins and lingering spice.
FINISH:
A breathtakingly long and warming finish, with persistent notes of chocolate-covered cherries, antique oak, toasted hazelnuts, and a touch of sweet pipe smoke, fading gracefully into a final whisper of sherried sweetness and spice.
