The GlenDronach Grandeur 28 Year Old Batch 11 is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky, meticulously crafted to exemplify the distillery's renowned sherry cask maturation. Hand-selected by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie, this expression is drawn from a small number of exceptional Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in a whisky of remarkable depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
An explosion of rich, honeyed sherry with notes of caramel, brown sugar, and fragrant stewed dark fruits such as plums, dates, and figs.
TASTE:
Thick and oily mouthfeel with immediate ginger spice mixed with dried fruits and a dusty earthiness. Flavors of sweet rich toffee, dried plums, and bitter dark chocolate emerge, culminating in a Christmas cake profile balanced by deep, dark chocolate bitterness.
FINISH:
Long and satisfying, with a creamy dark chocolate, dried fruits, and stewed figs, fading ginger trailing off.
