A 34 year old Dailuaine!!! Distilled in 1980 and matured in refill American oak casks, this is a release of 2,952 individually numbered bottles. The first official bottling in six years from a distillery that plays a key role in many blends as well as having a dedicated following for its often meaty malts.
Part of Diageo's Special Releases 2015. Very rich and full flavoured, with tempting notes of dried fruit, gingerbread and cured meat, as well as leather and tobacco. A class act.

Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Big-hitting aromas of currants, citrus and cured meat. Dense, dark, overdone gingerbread with bittersweet spices – musky clove, burnt cinnamon sugar – and a sprinkling of cocoa powder.
TASTE:
Full on but still fresh. Sweet and clean candied orange, orange-glazed ham, dark chocolate and a refreshing tang of zingy grapefruit. Chocolate-dipped oranges served in a cigar-box factory, with a meaty, leathery note on the side.
FINISH:
Superb balance between dry barrel char and sweet spices. Classy and alluring.
OVERALL:
A big-hearted dram but still enough complexity and precision to reward slow contemplation.
