On the palate, Blue Spot 7 Year Old is full-bodied and complex. The initial burst of flavors includes sweet toffee, butterscotch, and rich caramel, interwoven with a pronounced spiciness from the pot still distillate. As the flavors develop, there's an enticing mix of dried fruits, particularly sultanas and raisins, along with notes of green apple and a touch of citrus zest. The influence of the oak casks is evident, adding depth with hints of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a gentle smokiness.
FINISH:
The finish is long and warming, leaving a lingering impression of spicy oak, sweet malt, and a gentle peppery kick. The cask strength adds a robust, warming character that enhances the overall complexity, making for a satisfying and memorable finish.
