Weingut Bercher - Spätburgunder | German Red Wine

The VDP Weingut Bercher from Burkheim am Kaiserstuhl is indisputably one of the best wineries in southern Germany. On the slopes around the Kaiserstuhl, grapes thrive that produce wines of absolutely high quality and breathtaking taste. After harvesting and mash fermentation, this Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir is filled into large oak barrels and allowed to mature there for months. The barrels have a volume of approx. 2000 liters, which makes the wine denser, more substantial and more aromatic. The wine tastes full-bodied and strong without developing dominant aromas of wood (unlike barrique barrels). Maturation in large wooden barrels is a refinement of the wine and is to be regarded as the most original type of maturation, even before the steel tank era. A real red wine.
