Tenuta Regaleali's Vigna San Francesco Cabernet Sauvignon is a distinguished red wine hailing from Sicily's renowned Tasca d'Almerita estate. Crafted exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes cultivated in the San Francesco vineyard, situated at an elevation of 570 meters, this wine reflects the unique terroir of the region. The grapes undergo traditional red wine fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by an 18-month maturation in 225-liter French oak barrels from Allier and Tronçais, all of which are new.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep, opaque ruby color with hazy-noble ruby shades on the rim.
NOSE:
Powerful and flamboyant aromas dominated by overripe black fruits such as blackcurrant, cassis, blackberry, and black cherry. These are complemented by spicy notes of black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and hints of roasted oak, licorice, and sweet tobacco. Earthy undertones of graphite and quartz add complexity.
TASTE:
Full-bodied and supple, the wine presents crisp acidity and ripe, fine-grained tannins. The flavor profile mirrors the nose, with overripe black fruits leading into spicy and oaky nuances.
FINISH:
The finish is long, leaving a velvety-seedy aftertaste.
