Description

Sylvain Pataille has a relationship with wine that spans his whole life. His was not a family of vignerons, but his childhood was spent amongst the vines. His father, a bus driver, spent some afternoons helping his vigneron friend, bringing along Sylvain and his brother, Laurent. And every summer, they would visit their paternal great uncle’s domain in the Médoc. Sylvain grew up around wine and vines, and he knew that winemaking would be his career.

Tasting Notes

Sylvain Pataille’s Marsannay La Montagne Village is a beautiful Burgundy made with Pinot Noir grapes, pressed in whole bunches, and aged for 18 months in barrels and vats. It has a beautiful garnet red color, with an ABV of about 13%. It’s seductive on the nose, with aromas of violet and fern, and notes of sweet spice and sour cherry. It has a greedy palate, with notes of fruit and vanilla, with a fresh finish and firm tannins.

Food Pairing

Serve your Marsannay La Montagne Village with your charcuterie, or terrines. It goes great with hanger steak, beef bourguignon, or lamb chops. If you’d like to pair it with seafood, try it with roast monkfish.
