Description

Sylvain Pataille has a relationship with wine that spans his whole life. His was not a family of vignerons, but his childhood was spent amongst the vines. His father, a bus driver, spent some afternoons helping his vigneron friend, bringing along Sylvain and his brother, Laurent. And every summer, they would visit their paternal great uncle’s domain in the Médoc. Sylvain grew up around wine and vines, and he knew that winemaking would be his career.

Tasting Notes

This Burgundy red wine is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes from Marsannay, pressed in whole clusters, aged in barrels for 18 months, and blended and settled in stainless steel tanks. It has a nice ruby color, with an ABV of around 13%. It exudes a bouquet of red cherries, with notes of strawberry and raspberry. Fresh and vibrant on the palate, it has a medium body, with notes of soft red fruit, black cherry, and blueberry. Deep and elegant, it has a nice, precise finish.

Food Pairing

The Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Clos du Roy Village is great to pair with your charcuterie. Try it with a variety of cured meats and cheeses. It’s great with roast lamb, or a grilled steak. Enjoy it also with a hefty meat-based pasta.
