Description

The Springbank 16 Year Old Rum Wood is a notable single malt Scotch whisky from the Campbeltown region, distilled in June 1991 and bottled in August 2007. This limited edition release comprises 5,100 bottles, each presented at a cask strength of 54.2% ABV. The whisky underwent a unique maturation process, spending the first eight years in refill bourbon barrels before being transferred to fresh rum casks for an additional eight years.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: Initial aromas of peaches, clementines, and floral blossoms, with underlying notes of toasted grains, brown sugar, vanilla, and a hint of pie crust.
TASTE: A vibrant profile featuring limes and lemons, complemented by roasted peat, vanilla extract, and tapioca pudding. The sweetness intensifies over time, revealing hints of roses and peaches.
FINISH: Lingering flavors of vanilla ice cream, tart citrus, sweet rum, and a peppery warmth.
