Description

Located east of Napa, this Mt George Vineyard is the site of one of the first grape plantings in the valley in the 19th century. The deep soils derived from volcanic shale and tufa yield Merlot fruit of power and structure.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, star anise and clove with a hint of flakey pie crust. Full-bodied with a broadly structured mid-palate, velvety texture, concentrated cassis flavors and a long, dusty cocoa finish.

Food Pairing

Pair with grilled steak or pork, roast game and pastas with tomato-based sauces.
