The Royal Salute 32 Year Old Union of the Crowns is unfortunately a limited release from Chivas Brothers, because this blended Scotch makes one heck of an interesting dram. This unique edition, launched originally for the Travel Retail market, salutes (ahem) the moment King James VI fused three kingdoms to create the modern British Monarchy in 1603.
A truly special blend, whisky from distilleries long-since closed like Caperdonich and Lochside are combined with distinctive offerings chosen to balance a complex taste; such as the fruity character of Glen Keith, the creamy texture of Longmorn; the sweet notes of Tormore and the rich qualities of Braeval.

NOSE:
Honey moves into butterscotch and soft vanilla fudge, before spicy ginger and cinnamon give depth.
TASTE:
Exquisitely full without being boisterously rich, sharp marmalade balances with sweet peach and bitter cocoa. Peaty embers linger with an earthy tang and soft oak murmerings.
FINISH:
Very smooth, beautifully long and drifting with hums of sweet syrup melting away. Complexity and sophistication in swathes.
