Description

2009 was an exceptional vintage in Burgundy. The vines benefited from optimal climatic conditions throughout the vegetative cycle. Following an early budbreak, the vines started flowering quickly and evenly under clement skies and were in full bloom on 4th June. The grapes continued developing in July thanks to good weather with a few showers that kickstarted the colour change (25th July). A green harvest was carried out on 27th July to concentrate the sugar in the remaining berries. With harvest on the horizon in September, the grapes finished ripening in perfect conditions and the crop remained healthy.

Tasting Notes

The nose is heady, perfumed and very complex with ripe red and black fruits, spicy hints of black pepper and licorice as well as a delicate floral touch. Elegant yet powerful on the palate, this wine has polished tannins and a long, lingering finish.
