Very well aged Cognac from the Léopold Gourmel range. The Quintessence is a 30 year old Cognac which has been made using fruit grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides, and matured in un-toasted French oak casks - two characteristics Léopold Gourmel is known for. Sitting at the top end of their range, this ought to be an absolutely incredible expression.

Tasting Notes

Big, bold spice rises first, though it keeps the floral and nutty qualities the range's other expressions have possessed. Spiced apple, orange zest, caramel and rancio.
