The Lagavulin 1976 Cask Strength 30 Year Old is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky from the renowned Lagavulin Distillery on Islay. Distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2006, this limited edition was part of Diageo's Special Releases series, with only 2,340 bottles produced. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.6% ABV.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Initially subtle peat, evolving into waxy notes with hints of shoe polish and heather. Sweet aromas of almonds, passion fruits, pineapple, and gooseberries emerge, accompanied by a gentle floral character.
TASTE:
Sweet and smooth with pronounced oak flavors. A tropical fruitiness is present, with soft smoke in the background.
FINISH:
Teasing, heathery, and delicious, leaving a lasting impression.
