The Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Bourbon Oak 2022 is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky from the Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. This expression is fully matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at a robust cask strength of 55.8% ABV.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Salty, chalky, and mineralic with grassy farmyard funk. Notes of vanilla, caramel, lemon oil, and lemon bonbons, complemented by hints of pebble beaches, sandalwood, pickled onion juice, olives, pine needles, a slight herbal note, and soot.

TASTE:
Oily texture with flavors of salt, minerals, and farmyard funk. Sweet and sour citrus notes, including lemon and orange, transitioning to grapefruit. Briny elements with vanilla, root ginger, and liquorice, accompanied by sooty smoke that intensifies towards the finish.

FINISH:
Slightly drying with building smoke, herbal sage, grass, and an increasing creaminess as it dissipates.
