Description

The fourth release of Kilchoman's excellent, lightly-peated release, 100% Islay. They used barley grown on the island and completed every step of production at the distillery - a big undertaking, but a labour of love from the Kilchoman crew. To create this release, they used a combination of four and five-year old whiskies from first-fill bourbon barrels (40 in total) and bottled it without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: Oranges and ripe nectarines, crumbly pastry and a good swirl of peat.
TASTE: Coastal peat comes through first, but this subsides to make way for rich vanilla, citrus and fragrant smoke.
FINISH: Very subtle hints of cigar box on the Finish, along with more citrus.
