Jules Desjourneys - Fleurie is a red wine from the appellation of Beaujolais, produced by Jules Desjourneys.

The story of Jules Desjourneys' Fleurie begins when Fabien Duperray, after 20 years as a distributor, acquired some very old vines in some of the best terroirs of Beaujolais. Eager to show what Beaujolais was truly capable of, Duperray left his position as a merchant and devoted himself to winemaking. He began to farm the land bio-dynamically, weeding by hand, aging in custom barrels, and paying close attention to every detail of the winemaking process. Duperray takes his wine through a 36-month elevage before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Color of deep Ruby red, raspberries, light to medium bodied wine, it is surprising that this is a Gamay for its intense color and body, Plummy, oaky, pepper, medium acidity, smooth tannins, medium finish.
