The Glengoyne 28 Year Old Brass Safe Spirit is a rare and luxurious Highland single malt, meticulously aged for 28 years to develop exceptional depth and complexity. Named after the brass spirit safe used in the traditional distillation process at Glengoyne, this release pays homage to the distillery’s dedication to craftsmanship, patience, and unhurried whisky-making. As with all Glengoyne expressions, it is unpeated, allowing the long maturation in carefully selected sherry casks to impart rich layers of fruit, spice, and oak character.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Exquisitely rich, with deep aromas of dried apricots, dark cherries, polished oak, and caramelized brown sugar. Hints of honeyed almonds, vanilla pod, cinnamon, and aged leather emerge, intertwined with a delicate floral note and subtle cocoa.
TASTE:
Velvety smooth and full-bodied, delivering waves of treacle, ripe orchard fruits, candied orange peel, and dark chocolate. The long sherry maturation introduces layers of nutmeg, toasted walnuts, espresso, and sweet spice, balanced by a touch of creamy malt and citrus zest.
FINISH:
Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering notes of sherried oak, vanilla, dried fruit, and a whisper of tobacco and spice, slowly fading into a soft, nutty afterglow.
