Distilled in the early 1970s and aged for 8 years, this expression represents an early version of Glenfarclas’ now-famous "105 Cask Strength" series. Despite its younger age, this whisky delivers remarkable intensity, rich sherried character, and bold flavors, making it a prized piece of whisky history.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: Powerful and expressive, with aromas of sherried dried fruits (raisins, sultanas, and figs), dark toffee, and oak spice. Hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and charred wood emerge, complemented by touches of honey and burnt caramel.
TASTE: Full-bodied and intense, featuring a bold sherry-driven sweetness, with flavors of dark chocolate, treacle, and roasted nuts. The high proof enhances the spiced oak, pepper, and espresso notes, while subtle hints of orange zest and malted barley balance the richness. Water opens up additional layers of vanilla, caramelized almonds, and baked apples.
FINISH: Long and warming, with lingering notes of sherried fruitcake, toasted oak, dark cocoa, and a gentle smokiness, gradually fading into a dry, nutty spice.
