The Glenfarclas 1980 Family Casks #1911 is a rare and exquisite single cask Highland single malt whisky, released as part of Glenfarclas’ highly coveted Family Casks series. Distilled in 1980 and matured for decades in a carefully selected sherry cask (#1911), this whisky showcases the signature rich, full-bodied sherried style of Glenfarclas. Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill filtered, and with no added color, this limited-edition release delivers incredible depth, complexity, and refinement.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: A beautifully aged nose, brimming with antique oak, polished leather, and dark dried fruits (raisins, figs, and dates). Hints of sherry-soaked cherries, honeycomb, and roasted almonds emerge, alongside delicate notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and tobacco leaf.
TASTE: Luxuriously full-bodied, with layers of treacle, rich toffee, and caramelized nuts. The long sherry cask maturation imparts flavors of spiced orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and aged oak, beautifully balanced by notes of dark cocoa, black cherries, and a hint of espresso bitterness. The mouthfeel is silky and complex, with a perfect harmony of sweetness and spice.
FINISH: Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, antique oak, roasted coffee beans, and subtle tobacco smoke, gradually fading into a whisper of nutty sweetness and gentle spice.
