Another terrific bottling from Irish distillery Glendalough, forming part of their esteemed single cask series.
This dram has been matured initially in former Bourbon barrels, before a finishing period in Burgundy wine casks.
The result is a delicious whiskey, with a core of creamy, spicy and vanilla-led Bourbon cask notes, accompanied by fruitier wine flavours of red grapes, raspberries, cherries, mixed spice and wine tannins.

Just 366 bottles of this single cask release were produced.

| TASTING NOTES | NOSE: Initially fruity vanilla, then dark berries and slightly spicy aromas of cinnamon and oak. TASTE: Full, soft body with hints of butterscotch and mild honey, in addition the berries and the spicy notes - above all a slightly earthy note. FINISH: Long, now spicy finish with cardamom, aniseed and ground cinnamon bark - raisins, figs and dark chocolate in the background. |
