Description

Podere Giodo is a six-hectare wine estate in Brunello di Montalcino situated between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Sant’Antimo. The estate was set up by Carlo Ferrini in 2000 and today is managed by Carlo and his daughter Bianca. The name Giodo is a contraction of his parents’ names, Giovanna and Donatello.

Tasting Notes

A medium-bodied, very tight and precise red with focused, firm tannins framing sleek layers of cranberries, blackberries, stones, slate and tobacco. Hints of dried fruit. too. Mineral and stony. Old-vine character here, with lots of bark and spice at the end.
