From vines averaging about 40 years old. The nose is perfumed and high-toned with red-fruited aromas of wild strawberry and sour cherry, giving way to vibrant chalky soil notes and savory herbal aromas. The mid-weight and lithe palate offers flavors of red and black cherry, raspberry on a well-knit and energetic finish with bright acidity and ripe tannins. This is pretty, rather than powerful, but has the inherent balance to age beautifully over the next 10-15 years. This is lovely Chambolle and a terrific value.
