Freemark Abbey - Chardonnay | Californian White Wine

Wine Profile:
The Napa Valley Chardonnay wine is a rich and complex wine. Aromas of ripe Fuji apple, butterscotch and lemon curd are present on the nose. The barrel fermentation added complex aromas of soft vanilla, angel food cake and baking spices. The palate is full, creamy and rich, reminiscent of the texture of panna cotta. The partial malolactic fermentation created a suppleness to the wine while preserving enough acidity to keep it fresh and vibrant. It is complex, integrated and well balanced and will complement a wide variety of dishes.

Primary Vineyards:
Ahmann Vineyard—Carneros: Located in Carneros near the Huichica Creek, this vineyard has the unique attributes of a cool growing season complemented by long slow ripening. The vineyard creates flavors of apple and citrus with the preservation of acidity and a low pH.

Rancho Sarco: Located in the Coombsville AVA, on the north east border of the town of Napa, the soil is a gravelly clay loam that supports a variety of grapes. This chardonnay ripens to produce flavors of pineapple, apple, peach and banana.

Keyes Vineyard—Howell Mountain: Located near the town of Angwin, at roughly 1850 ft elevation. The mountainous soil is predominantly volcanic, shallow with low fertility, producing Chardonnay that expresses citrus and stone fruit flavors with a crispness and distinct minerality.
