Description

This is a Syrah red wine from Ferraton Père & Fils, named Saint-Joseph "La Source" Rouge.

SOIL:
Slightly acid granite on the right bank of the Rhône, on the foothills of the Massif Central.

VINIFICATION:
Grapes are destemmed. Maceration for about 20 days. Extraction made by pumping over and punching down.

MATURATION:
In oak barrels and vats for 12 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Intense ruby color.

NOSE:
Small black berries (blackcurrant, blackberry), violet, hints of licorice.

TASTE:
Soft attack, with aromas of red fruit. The backbone of the wine is its minerality. The finish is long and spicy.
