Description

Bernkasteler Lay is a Grosse Lage (grand cru) vineyard situated directly along the Mosel, between the village of Bernkastel and the Dr. Loosen estate house. The rocky blue slate soil here produces richly textured, assertive wines. Kabinett is the lightest, most delicate style of Riesling, produced from grapes picked early in the harvest.

Tasting Notes

A snappy Riesling, with snow pea notes to the well-proportioned flavors of glazed citrus, dried apricot and lemon meringue pie. The juicy finish is filled with rich, spicy notes.

Food Pairing

Always on the denser more serious side of Kabinett, this would be at its best with salty, smoky and spicy foods, from gravlax to shrimp in a red chili sauce.
