Description

Chandon de Briailles Île des Vergelesses is a wonderfully situated premier cru vineyard in the middle of the slope, facing the hill of Corton to the south east. Cold spring weather combined with hail contributed to a loss of around 50% of their yield for the 2017 vintage, but the reduction in yield combined with consistently cool nights fostered wines with depth and lifted acidity.

Tasting Notes

The Pernand-Vereglesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru Blanc has a beautiful, comely bouquet, scents of freshly sliced white peach intermingling with pineapple chunks and a hint of apricot. The poised, harmonious palate is very well balanced, displaying a fine bead of acidity and a waxy, almost white-Rhône-like finish that lingers.
