Description

This Burgundy domaine was founded by Victor Moretti in the 1930s, and taken over by his daughter, Genevieve Royer-Moretti in 1982. She passed on the domaine to her son-in-law, Michel Digioia, in 1999, and he has since been in charge of it.

Tasting Notes

This Domaine Digioia-Royer red wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes from vines around 70 years, aged in barrels for 16 months, and blended in stainless steel tanks. It has an ABV of about 13.5%, and is refreshing and medium-bodied. It’s ripe and velvety on the nose, with notes of prune and black fruit. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a rustic quality and a depth of flavor.

Food Pairing

Pair your Digioia-Royer Chambolle Musigny Les Groseilles 1er cru with cured meats and cheeses, like Brie de Meaux or Chaource. It’s also great with braised beef, grilled steak, and roast lamb or roast veal.
