Description
Mezcal Derrumbes Michoacan is an exotic combination of rich, pungent agaves and ancient production techniques. Made using a combination of Cupreata and Cenizo agave, cooked in an underground pit, this shows excellent balance between fruity and herbal notes.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Sharp vegetal notes: ferns, fresh cut grass and pine needles. It also has a sweet, almost Chinese-style sweetcorn soup, note, with nail varnish remover and wood ash. There are touches of white wine vinegar, without although without the acid hit that suggests, and freshly cracked stone.
TASTE:
Intense agave pepper and sweet fruit to start, quickly calming to a mineral-heavy, sweet tropical fruit juice character, although with a strong, agave pepperiness and the woody smoke from the Nose.
FINISH:
Long, with stones, camp fires and apples.
