David Moreau - Bourgogne - Pinot Noir | French Red Wine

Born to a winemaking family, David Moreau studied in Beaune and Dijon. But when he returned, he and his grandfather had disagreements about winemaking ideologies, so he decided to get experience elsewhere. He worked with Olivier Lamy, and at Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, and even in the Neudorf Vineyards of New Zealand. When his grandfather was at the cusp of retirement, he agreed to go back and take over. But he would only do so on one condition—that all of the decisions would be his. His grandfather agreed, and he took the reins. One of his first changes was making the switch to organic farming, and longer and slower elevages. His wines are the perfect entry-level Burgundy, with bright fruity flavor and acidity. Though still young, David Moreau is definitely a winemaker to watch.
