Description

A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the wine saw 16-18 months in 70% new French oak. The Becot family, owners of the Grand Cru Chateau Beau-Sejour in St. Emilion, saw both tremendous potential and as well as a kinship with St. Emilion in this upper-elevation Côtes de Castillon site located just southeast of Beau Sejour itself. They spent a fortune revitalizing the property with a new winery and better farming practices (the most intensive in the region) and, with the help of consultations, they have crafted a delicious, age worthy Bordeaux combining modern viticulture with traditional aesthetics.

Tasting Notes

Clear, dark red color, butter aroma, some tannin, sweet on the tip of tongue, black fruit aroma and taste, dry, well aged and balanced.
