Description

The wines of Chateau Imperial Tokaj wine family represent well balanced, elegant style of Tokaj Region. The main grape variety is Furmint. The vines are planted on the south part of Mount Tokaj where vinification dates back to 15th century. The vines and wines are treated with the greatest care, listening to nature's call. This approach allows to bring clear and honest wines to the table.

Soil: Thick loess soil with more complex volcanic subsoil
Age of vines: 10-12 year-old vines

Wine Making: ’Aszú’ berries macerated in fresh juice, fermentation in oak barrels, aging time 2-5 years

Tasting Notes

Deep gold, verging on amber. Pronounced intensity with clean nose, lots of primary aromas of ripe tropical fruit (pineapple and mango), ripe apricot. Ginger and nutmeg come out, as well as tertiary of oak, honey, orange marmelade. It’s luscious, sweet with high acidity, pronounced intensity and very long finish.

Food Pairing

Recommended to drink as an aperitif, or match with oysters, seafood, light blue cheeses, mango sorbet and medium-sweet desserts.
