Description

Benjamin Leroux is a native of Burgundy, and is a winemaking prodigy. He attended Lycée Viticole, a prominent wine school in Beaune, at only 13 years old. By the age of 26, he was general manager and winemaker of Domaine du Comte Armand. He launched his eponymous label in 2007, to wide critical acclaim. He has risen through the ranks of Burgundy producers at a spectacular rate, thanks to his modern winemaking approach that he combines with respect to tradition and his deep knowledge of viticulture. This young vigneron has a bright future ahead of him, one that the winemaking world is eager to see.

Tasting Notes

The Benjamin Leroux Vosne-Romanee Village is a Pinot Noir counted among the top one percent of wines in the world, and scored a 92 on Decanter. It has a deep plum color, and an ABV of about 14%. Pure, juicy, and silky, it gives notes of red cherry, violet, and sandalwood on the nose. It has a seductive and velvety mouthfeel, with fine tannins, and notes of juicy red berries.

Food Pairing

Pair the Vosne-Romanee Village by Domaine Benjamin Leroux with chargrilled steak, roast lamb or duck, or some hearty stews. Try it also with Cantonese char-siew, lamb or chicken biryani, or beef bulgogi.
