Description

Benjamin Leroux is a native of Burgundy, and is a winemaking prodigy. He attended Lycée Viticole, a prominent wine school in Beaune, at only 13 years old. By the age of 26, he was general manager and winemaker of Domaine du Comte Armand.

Tasting Notes

The Benjamin Leroux Pommard Rugiens-Hauts 1er cru is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes, aged for 12 months in 20% new oak barrels. It has a deep red-purple color, and an ABV of 13%. On the nose, it is vivacious, with a mineral-driven bouquet. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has notes of black fruit, and a nice acidity. An excellent wine, it finishes long and generous.

Food Pairing

Pair the Pommard Rugiens-Hauts by Benjamin Leroux is best paired with hearty meats like chargrilled steak, beef bourguignon, veal, and meat-based pastas. Try it also with roast poultry, like goose or duck.
