Description

Benjamin Leroux is a native of Burgundy, and is a winemaking prodigy. He attended Lycée Viticole, a prominent wine school in Beaune, at only 13 years old. By the age of 26, he was general manager and winemaker of Domaine du Comte Armand. He launched his eponymous label in 2007, to wide critical acclaim. He has risen through the ranks of Burgundy producers at a spectacular rate, thanks to his modern winemaking approach that he combines with respect to tradition and his deep knowledge of viticulture. This young vigneron has a bright future ahead of him, one that the winemaking world is eager to see.

Tasting Notes

The Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne Blanc is made with Chardonnay grapes fermented in oak foudres and barrels, and aged for 12 months. Dry and medium-bodied, it’s a neat and fresh white wine with an ABV of 12.5%. It has a creamy quality, with a bouquet of almond, apple blossom, and honey. It’s honeyed on the palate, with citrus notes, and a mango and passionfruit finish.

Food Pairing

Pair the Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne Blanc with mild, soft cheeses like Camembert, and some cured meats. It also goes great with cream-based pastas, fish like tuna and salmon, and shellfish.
