Description

The first months of 2012 were rather cold and marked by the abundant snowfall in February, an unusual phenomenon for the Tuscan coast. The budding took place regularly, but with a rather low number of bunches. The last spring months and the first summer months were hot and dry, resulting in limited berry growth and low production per vine. This climatic trend, in addition to the low fertility, has led to a 20% reduction in production. If the quantity was low, the overall quality instead was higher than what could be expected from such a hot vintage - excellent grapes, strong acidity, and above all, high quality tannins.

Tasting Notes

The nose perceives intense notes of plum, cherry and raspberry, combined with notes of undergrowth and spices. On the palate, its roundness and thickness stand out. A wine of great pleasure and depth, characterized by an exuberant aftertaste of fruit.
