This is the Pinot Noir wine from the soils of Chambolle-Musigny, produced by Bouchard Père et Fils.
Purchased grapes are made through long-term grower contracts, who are committed to respecting Bouchard Père & Fils’ strict quality control. Vatting of the wine last from 2 – 3 weeks. The wine is matured for 12 months in French oak, of which, 30% is new.
The soil and sub-soils of Chambolle-Musigny are of ideal composition to produce wines with remarkable finesse and elegance, which leads to their nickname the “Volnay of the Côte de Nuits.“
The soil is generally quite shallow often just covering the rock. The vines reach as far as 33-feet down through faults in the rock, notably in Musigny.
